I Care to Care!
The ability to understand basic health information shapes the ability to make better health decisions. After decades of minimal improvement in national health literacy scores and sustained levels of health inequity, I decided to try something new…not for money, but because I care.
About Me…
Dr. Fayshonda Cooks
I am originally from the very small town of DeSoto, GA. Growing up in a poor community with significant health risks and health disparities inspired me to become a Registered Nurse and a Doctor of Public Health. A helper at heart, my goal was and is to be a part of efforts to effect the changes I wish to see in population health.
I have been teaching in leadership roles for most of my nearly 30-year healthcare career and as a college-level adjunct professor for a few years. My clinical leadership expertise along with healthcare administration and college-level faculty success have consistently supported my objective to be, and train others to be, an agent for positive health industry outcomes.
I have worked with awesome teams that were open to my visions and willing to help to create realities beyond anything I visualized. I feel blessed to now see the reality of the vision of creating a free global platform for improving health literacy and health outcomes.

My Expertise and Awards
I am a Doctor of Public Health Graduate with Distinction and a Registered Nurse.
Commitment to excellence and effective training facilitation are strengths that have supported my 100% success rate improving organizational outcomes. I led clinical operations that improved two Florida health department networks from marginal performance to Joint Commission Accreditation, both on the first attempt.
My doctoral project focused on new ways to provide health services and health education in low-income communities. This complemented decades of experience working to improve health outcomes and services for disadvantaged populations.
Caring to Care Together!
In 2018, as founder and CEO of Healthcare Access Alliance, I coined the term CollaborACTion which emphasizes the need for collaboration along with action to effect change. Partners and friends collaborACT to support health services and education opportunities in various communities. Here are a few!
